FLOWER OF EVIL

Flower of Evil (Kim Cheol-Kyu, 2020) is a wonderful thriller series about a detective called Cha Ji-won (Moon Chae-won) who is married to Baek Hee-Sung (Lee Joon-Gi), a committed husband (and also father) but that actually hides his dark past and lives under another person's identity.

Flower of Evil es una estupenda serie de thriller sobre una detective llamada Cha Ji-won (Moon Chae-won) que está casada con Baek Hee-Sung (Lee Joon-Gi), un marido y también padre devoto pero que en realidad esconde un oscuro pasado y vive bajo la identidad de otra persona.

Things change when Ji-won starts working in a case that involves the investigation of a series of murders and she realizes their precious life together might be affected by it.

Las cosas cambian cuando Ji-won empieza a trabajar en un caso que involucra la investigación de una serie de asesinatos y se da cuenta que su preciada vida juntos puede estar afectada por ello.

In order to clean his past, Baek Hee-Sung wants to do everything that is in his hand to do so, including making connections with old friends like the reporter Kim Moo Jin (Seo Hyun Woo) and asking for help to a beloved person that he left in the past, Do Hae Soo (Jang Hee Jin).

Para limpiar su pasado, Baek Hee-Sung quiere hacer todo lo que esté en su mano para conseguirlo, incluido el hacer conexiones con viejos amigos como el reportero Kim Moo Jin (Seo Hyun Woo) y pedir ayuda a una persona querida a la que dejó en éste, Do Hae Soo (Jang Hee Jin).

But whose identity Baek Hee-Sung stole? And why? That's something you'll have to find out once you watch the series, but what I can tell you is that Gong Mi-Ja and Baek Man-woo (Nam Gi-Ae & Son Jong-Hak) were the ones that made it possible.

Pero, ¿a quién le robó Baek Hee-Sung la identidad? ¿Y por qué? Eso es algo que tendréis que descubrir una vez hayáis visto la serie, pero lo que os puedo contar es que Gong Mi-Ja y Baek Man-woo (Nam Gi-Ae y Son Jong-Hak) fueron los que lo hicieron posible.

Now, if you are into dramas that have a big emotional impact, that teach enormous values and that also are great on keeping the audience engaged this is what you were waiting for.

Ahora, si os interesan los dramas que tienen un gran impacto emocional, que enseñan grandes valores y que asimismo son geniales en hacer que la audiencia esté comprometida, éste es el que estábais esperando.

Parts and things that I loved the most:

-The cute relationship between Baek Hee-Sung and his adorable daughter Eun-ha (Jung Seo-Yeon).

Partes y cosas que más me gustaron:

-La adorable relación entre Baek Hee-Sung y su adorable hija Eun-ha (Jung Seo-Yeon).

-The love story between the two leads and how they both speak even without saying a word and how they grow and respect each others feelings, fears and desires.

-La historia de amor entre los dos protagonistas y cómo ambos hablan incluso sin mediar palabra, así como también cómo crecen y respetan sus sentimientos, miedos y deseos.

-How the series talks about traumas, and the way they change us, through the eyes of Baek Hee-Sung, who has antisocial personality disorder and it's supposed to not feel any kind of emotions but he challenges himself and learns through love and acceptance.

-Cómo la serie habla sobre los traumas y la manera en la que éstos nos cambian a través de la mirada de Hee-Sung, quien padece un desorden antisocial de la personalidad que hace que no sienta ningún tipo de emoción, pero él se reta a sí mismo y aprende a través del amor y la aceptación.

-The way it says it's okay to feel regretful, scared but that also tells you how important is to trust, to move on and keep following your heart. 

-La manera en la que se dice que está bien sentirse arrepentido, asustado pero que también muestra la importancia de la confianza, de seguir adelante y seguir al corazón.

-How all characters evolve and how this development is respected and so damn well portrayed by the actors and actresses, specially by Moon Chae-won and Lee Joon-Gi, the main stars of Flower of Evil.

We see the two sides of them both, the perfect husband/dad and the lonely man who is struggling because above all, has trouble understanding human emotion; & the perfect and loving wife/mom that is also an agent in look for the truth, willing to kick some asses.

-Cómo todos los personajes evolucionan y cómo ese desarrollo es respetado y tan bien interpretado por los actores y actrices, especialmente por Moon Chae-won y Lee Joon-Gi, las estrellas principales de Flower of Evil.

Vemos sus dos caras, la perfecta marido/padre y el chico solitario que tiene dificultades pero que, sobre todo, tiene problemas entendiendo la emoción humana. También vemos la perfecta y amorosa esposa y madre, quien asimismo es una agente en busca de la verdad dispuesta a patear culos.

In conclusion: Flower of Evil is an incredible thirller that speaks about serial killers, secrets of the past and how people feel and see life in a different way.

Concusión: Flower of Evil es un increíble thriller que habla sobre asesinos en serie, secretos del pasado y cómo las personas sienten las emociones y ven la vida de distintas formas.
