The Bad Kids

 

Winner of 32 awards, including Drama of the Year, Most Creative, Best Director and Acting, The Bad Kids is a series about three children from different broken families - Zhu Chao Yang (Rong Zishan), Yan Liang (Shi Pengyao) and Yue Pu (Wang Shengdi) who accidentally film a murder, an event that will complicate their lives and that will cause these to take a very different course.

Galardonada con 32 premios, entre ellos el de drama del año, el más creativo, mejor director y actuaciones, The bad kids es una serie sobre tres niños de diferentes familias desestructuradas - Zhu Chao Yang (Rong Zishan), Yan Liang (Shi Pengyao) y Yue Pu (Wang Shengdi), que graban accidentalmente un asesinato, un hecho que complicará sus vidas y hará que éstas tomen un rumbo muy diferente.

Zhu Chao Yang is a child who excels in school but, in part because of his parents divorce, does not socialize. However, his life changes completely when his childhood friend knocks on his door.

Zhu Chao Yang es un niño sobresaliente en los estudios pero que debido, en parte, a la separación de sus padres, no socializa. Sin embargo, su vida da un giro de 360 grados cuando su amigo de la infancia llama a su puerta.

Yan Liang also comes from an unstructured family, his father had a drug problem and therefore is in a detox clinic. Yan is then sent to an orphanage, where he meets Pu, who will make his life have a new meaning.

Yan Liang viene también de una familia desestructurada, su padre tuvo problemas con las drogas y por ello, está en una clínica de desintoxicación. Yan así es mandado para un orfanato, donde conoce a Pu y quien hará que su vida tenga un nuevo sentido.

Yue Pu is one of the most lovable characters in the series. An orphan girl whose sole purpose is to be able to help her brother (who is sick with cancer), but who is also capable of finding goodness in everyone and changing the meaning of the word 'family'.

Yue Pu es uno de los personajes más adorables de la serie. Una niña huérfana cuyo único propósito es poder ayudar a su hermano, enfermo de cáncer, pero quien también es capaz de encontrar la bondad en todos y cambiar el sentido de la palabra 'familia'.

In order to help Xin, Pu's brother, all the kids need is money, so Yan Liang and Pu return to the only place where they can find someone who can help them and that person is precisely Chao Yang. This is how this dark plot begins.

Para poder ayudar a Xin, el hermano de Pu, lo único que necesitan es dinero, por ello Yan Liang y ésta retornan al único lugar en el que pueden encontrar a quien les pueda ayudar, y ese es justamente Chao Yang. Es así cómo empieza esta oscura trama.

The bad kids (Xin Shuang, 2020) is a suffocating thriller that, as I mentioned, explores the darkness of human nature and how twisted we can be when we feel pain, as well as how dangerous hope can be.

And speaking of pain, the drama shows us all the sides of it: the pain of losing a loved one, the pain of fear of losing, the pain of disappointing or not being brave enough, as well as the need to revenge, caused by this threatening emotion.

Y es que, hablando del dolor, nos muestra todos los lados de éste: el dolor por perder a un ser querido, el dolor por el miedo a perderlo, el dolor por defraudar o por no ser lo suficientemente valiente, así como la necesidad de venganza que éste puede producir.

The best thing about the series is everything it teaches us: the value of friendship, the strength of staying together through all adversities, how we all learn from mistakes and face fears by being brave for those we love and most importantly: the nobility of the children's hearts.

Lo mejor de la serie es todo lo que ésta nos enseña: el valor de la amistad, la fortaleza de permanecer juntos ante las adversidades, de aprender de los errores, de afrontar los miedos siendo valientes por aquellos a los que amamos y, lo más importante: la nobleza de los corazones de los niños.
