PLOT:

'Mine' is a story of women who try to find their true selves as the time they free the world from prejudice and offer us, the viewers, a better world to dream with.

Seo Hi-Soo (Lee Bo-Young) was a star actress, but she gave up her career to marry the second son of a chaebol family and take care of their son, Ha-Joon (Jeong Hyun-Jun). The chaebol family runs the Hyowon Group. She does her best to fit in as a daughter-in-law.

Jung Seo-Hyun (Kim Seo-Hyung) is married to the first son of the same chaebol family. She is rational, elegant, intelligent and does her best to protect her loved ones.

Their world starts changing when Lee Hye-Jin (Ok Ja-Yeon) arrives at the family's mansion as Ha-Joon's tutor girl, proving that nothing was what it seemed.

ARGUMENTO:

'Mine' es una historia acerca de mujeres que tratan de encontrar a su verdadero yo al tiempo que liberan al mundo de prejuicios y nos ofrecen a los espectadores un mundo mejor con el que soñar.

Seo Hi-Soo era una actriz de cine, pero dejó su carrera para casarse con el segundo hijo de una familia empresaria y cuidar a su hijo, Ha-Joon. La familia está a cargo del grupo Hyowon. Asimismo, ella hace todo lo posible para encajar como nuera.

Jung Seo-Hyun está casada con el primer hijo de la familia. Es racional, elegante, inteligente y protege a sus seres queridos todo lo que puede.

El mundo de ambas empieza a cambiar cuando Lee Hye-Jin llega a la mansión de la familia como la tutora de Ha-Joon, probando que nada era lo que parecía.

MY REVIEW:

'Mine' may seem like a simple family drama at the beginning, but its tone quickly develops into something deeper and becomes a thriller about revenge, liberation and fresh new starts.

What we see in this Korean series is not just good acting, good lines and an incredible staging, it's also women fighting together to tear the patriarchy down and a cry for a change in a society that still doesn't truly see us or respect us.

"These mothers are so impressive. They have decided to raise their children single-handedly. They refuse to take the easy way out". That's one of the first lines of the drama and the reason it immediately got my attention. The way these women fought against the odds and how they smashed it by breaking all stereotypes was outstanding and so, so inspiring, just like their incredible bond.

The speech of 'Mine' was, like I said, a speech of liberation but also a speech of rebellion, freedom, strenght and also of acceptance. And us, the lgbt community, should, as well, be thankful for this.

It was beyond beautiful.

MI RESEÑA:

'Mine' puede parecer un simple drama familiar al comienzo, pero su tono rápidamente se convierte en algo más profundo y pasa a ser un thriller sobre venganza, liberación y nuevos comienzos.

Lo que vemos en esta serie coreana no es sólo buenas actuaciones, buen guión y una increíble puesta en escena, es también mujeres luchando juntas para acabar con el patriarcado y un grito por un cambio en una sociedad en la que no se nos ve ni se nos respeta.

"Estas madres son impresionantes. Han decidido criar a sus hijos sin ayuda de nadie. Han rechazado elegir el camino fácil." Esa es una de las primeras líneas del drama y la razón por la cual atrapó toda mi atención. La forma en que estas mujeres lucharon contra las adversidades y cómo triunfaron rompiendo todos los estereotipos fue sobresaliente y muy inspiradora, al igual que su increíble vínculo.

El discurso de "Mine" fue, como he dicho, un discurso de liberación, pero también un discurso de rebelión, libertad, fuerza y también de aceptación. Y nosotros/as, la comunidad lgbt, también deberíamos estar agradecidos por ello.

Fue más que hermoso.
